Holton Village is about 5.5 miles south of Oxfordshire, a small village in two parts which most is spread a cul-de-sac and a bit further on you will find more houses before you meet with the church, St. Bartholomew’s and between the church and the main village sits the village hall.
Holton village is close to the A40 trunk road and on the nearby River Thame to the east of the village is the 17th century Holton Mill.
On the opposite side of Holton Village is a larger village named Wheatley.
Holton is a small village and its history dates back to the doomsday records and its church dedicated to St Bartholomew dates back from the 12th century.
Holton Parks moated manor once housed General Fairfax, leader of the parliamentary forces during the final siege of Oxford and general Ireton married Bridget Cromwell at Holton Park in 1646 in the presence of her father Oliver Cromwell and his signature can be found in the church register.
Holton Park Estate once a former deer park, site of a medieval manor in 1801.
Holton Village has a village hall what consists of a larger more modern hall and a separate meeting room with a licensed bar, a fully equipped kitchen and even a wifi connection.
