Please note:
Any journeys with both a pick-up and a drop-off outside of Oxford will incur callout charges. Please note waiting time is added to the fare amount and is not inclusive. This will show up as additional fees on your receipt. All Prices are estimates unless fixed. From 22nd April 2021, we will be charging for all animals travelling in our taxis. Customers will need to be advised of this when taking the booking. There will be an additional £5 on top of the fare.
Surged fares
To make your bookings smoother, we will be introducing a small surcharge on all trips during our busy periods. This encourages more drivers to be on the road, so you can get picked up faster during the busiest time.
We will not charge anyone with a service dog i.e. guide dogs, hearing dogs etc.
Tariff adjustments
We are adjusting Tariffs by 0.20p
During the past few months, Royal Cars has, like many businesses, suffered a significant increase to its input costs particularly around energy consumption, staff and labour.
Additionally, the self-employed Driver Partners have experienced similar expense increases ranging from vehicle maintenance to insurance and more importantly, the record-high fuel costs which are a key element of their daily spend.
Royal Cars has tried very hard to minimise the resulting impact on our Customer fares, but we are now facing a further issue where Drivers struggle to see Taxi-work as attractive. This is predominantly due to the fact that fares have not been reviewed for many years and no longer reflect market rates.
Royal Cars needs to ensure we can provide you with a reliable and good level of service and so we are now increasing our Tarrif by 0.20p for both days & night to customers.

Extras:- Removal charge £15 to £30 plus the meter for each trip, (Please call the office for an accurate quote), Please also note that it is the driver’s discretion for the amount charged.
- Excess baggage carried inside the vehicle (except in boot): £5.00 where an estate car has been booked which carries an extra £5.00 charge.
- Soilage vehicle charge £70.00
- Wait and return minimum £7.00
- PET charge is £5 on top of the fare this excludes Guide Dogs
- Non-payment of fare will result in prosecution
- Minimum fare £6.00
